民間傳言: 小槐花具驅邪效用.民間療法中，小槐花常用於治療小兒疳積、咳嗽及肺疾等症。一般若感身體不適、運勢不順、惡夢不吉、陰邪
不寧等,亦可用茉草枝葉煮汁水浴,浴洗或擦拭等,
亦能治一切邪氣造成的不吉。
銳葉小槐花
別名:抹草.魅草.磨草.銳葉小槐花.草鞋板.拿身草.粘身草.味噌草.青酒缸.羊帶歸.
山野.山坡.林緣路旁自生。
農曆七月鬼門開，避邪物都變的很搶手，苗栗一間宮廟，免費提供避邪用的茉草，讓民眾領取，一天至少送出一兩千個，其實茉草是一種蝶形花科植物，古代相傳只要放在家門口，或是拿來洗澡，有驅邪避凶的功用，尤其是小孩子受到驚嚇，哭鬧不休，把茉草泡在熱水裡，拿來擦身體，老人家都說，很有效果。
在中國大陸及台灣等地區被作為中藥用，及民俗避邪用的小灌木。
「茉草」在風水上的趨吉避凶使用法:
(一).到中藥草店買已處理好的「茉草」枝葉,也可請其
代為磨碎,裝入罐中,放置乾燥少濕之處或冰箱內,
到需要用時,取出少許,用紙包妥,隨身攜帶;舉凡
去喪葬、醫院、曠野、古厝、陰地等,均可
帶在身邊,起到去陰避邪的作用,在離開上述等處,
返家之前,再將「茉草」丟棄,不宜帶回家中。
(二).到植物園藝店,購買已種植好的「茉草盆景」,將
其擺放在家中庭院、陽台、大門口附近等處,一則
避邪去陰防煞,二則若外出而有需用時,可摘幾片
茉草葉子,隨身攜帶用之,方便至極;建議大家購買
一盆放在家裡,不但可做觀賞用植物,又具有避邪
風水功效。
性味:(全草)味微苦，辛，甘，性平
採集加工:夏.秋間採全草或根.洗淨.曬乾備用。
功能:清熱.解毒.祛風.利濕.散瘀.殺蟲。
用於:感冒發熱.小兒疳積.胃腸炎.痢疾.風濕關節炎.帶下病。
外治:乳腺炎.癰癤疔瘡。
民間方例:
(一) 小兒疳積 : 小槐花根30克.與豬瘦肉同炖.喝湯吃肉。
(二) 婦女白帶 : 小槐花根一至一兩半.水煎服或炖豬粉腸吃。
(三) 潰瘍糜爛 : 小槐花葉研粉.麻油調敷。
第一方：小槐花根100克。水，酒煎服。主治：胃癌，食管癌。 第二方：小槐花根15克，六月雪根30克，野蕎麥根30克。酒水各半煎服。主治：風濕腰疼。 第三方：小槐花根15克，鐵線草15克。水煎服，白糖為引。主治：赤白痢疾。
